Northern Line Song by Schmoof

SchmoofAnother "Love on the Tube" song

A few weeks ago acb left a comment on my post about SnogLondon referring to a electro London band called Schmoof who had written a song called Northern Line about finding love on the London Underground. At their gig apparently they use a version of the Tube roundel shaped like a love heart to illustrate the song.

With a story as intriguing as this, I had to email the band to find out more.

Lead singer Sarah replied and has kindly let me re-produce the lyrics here:

Northern Line

Verse 1

Sarah I take the tube to Waterloo

Boy At Camden Town I spotted you

S And our eyes met over a paper

As we pulled into Leicester Square

B And for only 2 pounds & twenty

Today's journey was worth the fare

Both We met on the Northern Line (x2)

Verse 2

S Time's running out here's Charing Cross

B She's dropped her glove I reach across

S & our fingers touched at that moment

Causing both of us to quiver

B & we rode the tube until Morden

I don't go south of the river

How brill is that? Sarah also let us know that Schmoof have a gig on Wednesday 16th November at the Marquee in Leicester Square and you can get reduced entry for a fiver with this flyer.

Sadly, I'll be in California so won't be able to make it, but Neil's going to try to go along, as he's quite keen to see the Spectrum ZX Graphics. (Check out the video to the brill Chocolate Boyfriend) Let us know in the comments below if you'd like to go along too. (Kateyay? Chris Presswell? this might be up your street)
